Book:Blood and Salt
Romeo and Juliet meets Children of the Corn in this one-of-a-kind romantic horror.
These are the last words Ash Larkin hears before her mother returns to the spiritual commune she escaped long ago. But when Ash follows her to Quivira, Kansas, something sinister and ancient waits among the rustling cornstalks of this village lost to time.
Ash is plagued by memories of her ancestor, Katia, which harken back to the town’s history of unrequited love and murder, alchemy and immortality. Charming traditions soon give way to a string of gruesome deaths, and Ash feels drawn to Dane, a forbidden boy with secrets of his own.
As the community prepares for a ceremony five hundred years in the making, Ash must fight not only to save her mother, but herself—and discover the truth about Quivira before it’s too late. Before she’s all in—blood and salt “
A dark, seductive, sensual book. Incredibly gripping. The atmosphere is creepy and chilling, Love the corn stalks it gives it a 80’s horror movie feeling. There were so many feels…so many twists…so many SECRETS!!
I absolutely flew through this book. I started it last night and had to leave it with only 50 so pages left and finished it just a few minutes ago. I’ve had my eye on this book ever since the cover was revealed, and I was not disappointed. I love it !!! I’m a big horror/paranormal fan and I didn’t really know what to expect when going into this book.
I loved all the characters Ash,Beth,Dane and Rhys( I want to know more about what he can do !! ) Really happy there is going to be a sequel because I need more to this story. The romance with Ash and Dane was sweet and had some time to build up, and the twist keep coming. I loved secondary characters.
I recommend to those who love YA romantic horror. Blood and Salt is the perfect young adult book for this season!! Patiently waiting for the sequel, Goodreads page says May 2017.
