Dario Heyward knows one thing: He’s never going back to Moldavia Studios, the iconic castle that served as the set, studio, and home to the cast and crew of dozens
of cult classic B-horror movies. It’s been three years since Dario’s even seen the place, after getting legally emancipated from his father, the infamous director
of Moldavia’s creature features.

But then Dario’s brother invites him home to a mysterious ceremony involving his father and a tribute to his first film—The Curse of the Mummy’s Tongue. Dario swears
his homecoming will be a one-time visit. A way for him to get closure on his past—and reunite with Hayley, his first love and costar of Zombie Children of the Harvest
Sun, a production fraught with real-life tragedy—and say good-bye for good. But the unthinkable happens—Dario gets sucked back into the twisted world of Moldavia and
the horrors, both real and imagined, he’s left there.

With only months to rescue the sinking studio and everyone who has built their lives there, Dario must confront the demons of his past—and the uncertainties of his
future. But can he escape the place that’s haunted him his whole life?

Trigger warnings for mental illness and child abuse.

SCREAM ALL NIGHT  is a coming of age story about a boy who has to face his childhood demons and return to his home. I was first drawn to this book because I love horror movies. This book’s main setting is a a movie studio that makes horror movies. What I
wasn’t expecting was the abuse that Dario suffers as a child and the mental illness representation. This book is an interesting and quick read.

This is one of the most unique Ya book I’ve ever read! Dario Heyward is a teen boy living in a group home after legally emancipating himself from his family. His father, the famous mastermind behind a horror movie production company Moldavia Studios,he leaves the entire studio to Dario in his will. He is given six months to make a profit or he is to sell to another studio. Oren, Dario’s older brother has an idea for a movie but it is not well thought out, the crew dose not  want to continue with his film.

This book gave me a lot of Rocky Horror feelings, with the cult following of the studios B-horror movies.Derek does an amazing job setting the atmosphere of the
castle! I loved Dario as a character,he was clever and cares about his family and friends. He struggles with coming to terms with his childhood trauma, and his relationship with his brother. Oren, is such a different character, hes quirky and he struggles to put his thoughts together. I loved reading about him,he was a bit problematic but he works on repairing his relationship with Dario.

This book is released on July 24th, This would be the perfect book is to read during a cold October night!

As the community prepares for a ceremony five hundred years in the making, Ash must fight not only to save her mother, but herself—and discover the truth about Quivira before it’s too late. Before she’s all in—blood and salt “

My Thoughts

A dark, seductive, sensual book. Incredibly gripping. The atmosphere is creepy and chilling, Love the corn stalks it gives it a 80’s horror movie feeling. There were so many feels…so many twists…so many SECRETS!!

I absolutely flew through this book. I started it last night and had to leave it with only 50 so pages left and finished it just a few minutes ago. I’ve had my eye on this book ever since the cover was revealed, and I was not disappointed. I love it !!! I’m a big horror/paranormal fan and I didn’t really know what to expect when going into this book.

I loved all the characters Ash,Beth,Dane and Rhys( I want to know more about what he can do !! ) Really happy there is going to be a sequel because I need more to this story. The romance with Ash and Dane was sweet and had some time to build up, and the twist keep coming. I loved secondary characters.

I recommend to those who love YA romantic horror. Blood and Salt is the perfect young adult book for this season!! Patiently waiting for the sequel, Goodreads page says May 2017.
