Synopsis

Princess Lira is siren royalty and the most lethal of them all. With the hearts of seventeen princes in her collection, she is revered across the sea. Until a
twist of fate forces her to kill one of her own. To punish her daughter, the Sea Queen transforms Lira into the one thing they loathe most—a human. Robbed of
her song, Lira has until the winter solstice to deliver Prince Elian’s heart to the Sea Queen or remain a human forever.

The ocean is the only place Prince Elian calls home, even though he is heir to the most powerful kingdom in the world. Hunting sirens is more than an unsavory
hobby—it’s his calling. When he rescues a drowning woman in the ocean, she’s more than what she appears. She promises to help him find the key to destroying all of siren kind for good—But can he trust her? And just how many deals will Elian have to barter to eliminate mankind’s greatest enemy.

“And the ocean, calling out to us both. A song of freedom and longing.”

To Kill A Kingdom absolutely lived up to the hype! I LOVE IT. I’m a huge fairy tale nerd so I knew I had to get my hands on this book. This book is one of my favorite books of the year and its going on my all time favorites list! This book is so magical, the world building is so good, without any info-dumping. The action scenes are so well done, you could literally feel the tension,I loved everything about this book. Also this world was extremely diverse!I can’t wait to read more from this author, as I was blown away by her writing. I love stories about the ocean, mermaids and pirates this book made my heart so happy.

In this book we follow Lira who is a siren princess and a cold blooded killer. She was raised to steal human hearts, she wanted to be even more powerful and
decided to steal hearts from Princes. She wants to please her Mother the Sea Queen and in doing so Lira is vicious and unforgiving.Lira is such a complex character. She has so much depth, I enjoyed her arc and development so much!! I loved how she discovered humanity and grappled to come to terms with siren-hood at the same time.I adored her. She was strong and powerful!

Elian is the Prince of Madais but he dose not want to end up being king. He loves the ocean to much, he is also Pirate who hunts for sirens!! He is fierce loyal to his crew, there friendships are so heartwarming and sweet. He was so freaking sarcastic, I loved it. The romance between these two characters was so perfect. Slow burn,as they grew to care and trust each other.

“Hearts are power, and if there’s one thing my kind craves more than the ocean, it’s power.”

If I had to pick my favorite thing about this book, I would have to say without a doubt it would be the lore about the ocean and the sirens. I love the ocean I always have, I remember as a kid I would go swimming pretending I was a mermaid. The sirens in this book are gorgeous fierce wild creatures who show no mercy. I loved everything about them.

I was captivated from the very first page. I adored this book. I can’t wait to see what this author does next! If you like the Little Mermaid, Fantasy, dark twists… then this is the book for you!

Great review! I Have seen a lot of people reading and reviewing this book and besides the cover, I have never read anything until now. It seems that the author did a great job creating a world! I wondered how difficult it is or maybe that depends on what you want from the book. Becuase Three Dark Crowns couldn’t or didn’t want to create the world in the first book!
I like the sea and the ocean and all the masses of water around! So I bet you enjoy it that much if there was a lot of lore on this one!

    Thank you for sharing!
