The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand

When I heard there was a modern retelling of A Christmas Carol I was totally interested!! This was the perfect book to read for the Holiday season.

The Lost Sisters by Holly Black

This novella was such a wonderful addition the the Cruel Prince story and I loved seeing into the mind of Taryn, I still don’t like her but at least we got to see why she did some of the things she did. The writing is absolutely beautiful of course. Holly Black remains one of my favorite authors. I really loved this addition to the story and I’m so excited for The Wicked King !!

Merry Inkmas by Tailia Hibbert

I read this book for Tistheseasonathon, and it was the perfect fast paced romance. I loved the Holiday setting, and the characters I really felt connected to. This is a great book to read during the holiday season.

The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer

This book has been on my TBR for years and I am so happy that I finally picked it up. Its a middle grade fantasy, about two siblings who get transported into the land of fairy tales. I loved seeing all the characters and the setting. I’m planning on continuing on with the series in the new year! Full review to come.

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S Lewis

This book was a reread for me, and I loved it, maybe not as much as i did when i first read it at the age of 12. Some parts felt rushed, but the writing in beautiful and gives off so many winter vibes.

Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas

Review to come soon! This series is such a wild ride and I love it with my whole heart and soul. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that i loved the final book so much ! i will say it does have problematic issues but since i am such trash for this series i can over look some of the problems. I have already written the review just tweaking it a bit so it should be up very soon !

Movies Watched

I won’t bore you all with all the Christmas movies I watched which there was a lot haha but here are some of the other movies I watched this month.

Mamma Mia 2: Here we go Again

I spent 90% of this movie with a huge smile on my face and 10% trying not to ugly cry.  I loved it!

Christopher Robin

This movie was amazing! Winnie the Pooh was one of my all time favorite stories growing up. This movie really tugs on your heart strings.

Really surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie, I had no interest in reading the book or watching the movie. Noah was home from school due to a snow storm , he said his friends were all watching this movie.

Blogmas Day 10: One Day in December by Josie Silver

“You tread lightly through life, but you leave deep footprints that are hard for other people to fill.”

I LOVED this book right from  the start! This book was such an addictive read. I couldn’t put it down I fell in love with the characters, and rooted for them to be together.I am an emotional train wreck, I cried so many tears through the course of this book, especially at the end.

The story is told from the perspective of both Laurie and Jack, starting from that fateful day they locked eyes at the bus stop. They had an instant connection but Jack never got in the bus. A year passes by and Laurie has spent all her free time searching for this mysterious man. Until one night she goes to a Christmas party with her best friend Sarah, who is extremely excited to introduce Laurie to her new boyfriend. Sarah’s boyfriend is the mystery man from the bus stop.

“Sometimes you just meet the right person at the wrong time. “

This is not a typical love story. It takes place over the course of ten, angst filled years.I love how the story takes years to develop, we get to see the characters grow, experience joy and heartache. I was so invested in the story and the characters, I needed to know what happened to them.

I loved Laurie and Sarah’s friendship, both girls make mistakes but are incredible friends to each other. Laurie and Jack both hide there feelings and become very good friends as Sarah and Jack continue to date. I had so much anxiety while reading this, there’s characters had so many opportunities that passed them by.

I highly recommend this book. When I closed this book, I had tears running down my face. It is a beautiful story of love and friendship and how one moment can alter your whole life. If you like movies like Love, Actually them you will adore this book!

WWW Wednesday

I’m really sorry been slacking on the blogging lately, I’ve been in a reading slump. Also Emmy had her immunizations this month and they affected her negatively this time. She got a fever and has been pretty moody. I did finish a novella and I just finished a novel, hoping that the rest of the month is better. Anyway, I’m going to start to try and include more than just reviews on the blog. Hope you enjoy !

Currently Reading

16096824 A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass

This is a re-read, I still haven’t read A Court of Wings and Ruin and its killing me. I need to know what happens but first I want to refresh my mind with the first two books. Scribd just added the audiobook copies. I love this series so much ! Sarah is my all time favorite author, so I’m sad its taken me this long to get to the final book but it’s going to happen soon ! I promise. I was reading my original review of this book, its so terrible, all the praise I gave Tamlin as a character is disgusting.

32824058Strange Grace by Tessa Graton

After hearing Lilly @Lair of Books and Melanie @Meltotheany talk so highly of this book last week, it made me want to pick it up right away. I requested this arc a few months ago and since then saw a few negative reviews, but these two girls I love there taste in books so I’m jumping in. The tag line is what first drew me to the book “Once, a witch made a pact with a devil. The legend says they loved each other, but can the story be trusted at all?” This book called out to me, wanting to be read, I will read anything with witches in it.

Recently Finish Reading

37759098Girl’s Night Out by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke

This is a mystery thriller about three friends who go on a trip to Mexico to re connect and build up there friendships. Once there the girls are still hiding secrets from each other about the past and there present lives. On there last night Ashley goes missing, Natalie blacked out and can’t remember what happened. I enjoyed this book, it had its problems but overall I liked it. I guessed halfway through what happened to Ashley, so it wasn’t a big shocker when it was revealed. I will have a full review up in the next few days. I gave this a 3.5 Stars, I recommend it if your looking for a quick mystery read.

What I will Read Next

17927395A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Mass

Once I finish the audiobook for A Court of Thorns and Roses, I’m going to jump into the sequel. I loved this book the first time around so I’m sure I will still love it. Rhysand is Bae and I need something I love to help pull me out of my reading slump.

I’m not sure what else I would like to pick up yet, I’m mostly a mood reader so I’m sure something will spike my interest.
