302170712. Insta Hate by C.L Bond 3.5 Stars
I honestly thought it would be just a light-hearted contemporary romance, but it’s SO much more. I guessed at a few of things that happened and that effected how much I enjoyed it.

132272763.Suicide Squad vol 1 by Adam Glass 4 Stars
This was sooo good. The action, the gore, the characters all made this really exciting and entertaining. The Hunt for Harley Quinn Parts 1 and 2 were the highlight for me. That chick is crazy and I love her.

258839164.The Haunting of Gillespie house by Darcy Coats 5 Stars
This book is free on kindle unlimited.
Looking for a good, classic, haunted house story? Then this is your book. I loved this little ghost story. It was a super quick read and it’s really creepy. Elle needs to get away from things for a bit. She grabs the opportunity to house sit for a month at the Gillespie’s house. It’s more of an estate with the large forests and somewhat neglected mansion. This book had caught my attention because Gillespie is my last name and it’s uncommon to see it.

291061788.My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix, 4 Stars
The story follows Abby and Gretchen, two best friends. Then, along with two of their other friends, they party a little too hard and things get out of hand, and that is when things change. I loved this book. The setting was fantastic and the mentions of 80’s music, film and culture was a lot of fun. When the signs of possession happen, they happen with a bang. This is a book about the power of female friendships, and there’s a lot of those I’ve read so far this year that explore both the darkness and the light of what teenage girls can do to one another. That one scene with Good Dog Max was the absolute worst:( It is a very different coming-of-age epic that will appeal to young adult and older adults alike.

19499100._SY540_9.Broken Prince by Erin Watt, 5 Stars
This was an amazing follow up to Paper Princess and I loved it!I love the way the authors develop each and every character throughout these books. My favorite by far is still Easton. There is something about him I just adore. I love his relationship with Ella and how he cares for her so much, in a brotherly sort of way. What else can I say about these books? They are by far the most addictive books I have read in a long time. Prepare for a cliffhanger that will ruin you! That end! I’m gonna lose my mind…

329644710. The Awful Apple Orchard by M.D Spencer,5 Stars
This was my favorite book when I was 10, its a lot different reading it now. Not as scary , but still enjoyable 🙂 Shivers is sorta like goosebumps, but different. It doesn’t matter what order you read them in because there all different stories. I love this one because there so much fall vibes, the orchard the creepiness.

2581673011.Where They Found Her by Kimberly McCreigh, 4 Stars
I was hooked right away! Wow is this the page turner! Loved it .The story is told from multiple viewpoints, Molly a newspaper reporter, Barbra a mother married to the chief of police and Sandy a teenager from the wrong side of the tracks. The characters have depth, and who feel real. I have no hesitation in recommending Where They Found Her very highly.

July Reading Wrap up

Oh My God ! I can’t believe July is already over. Were past the half way mark through the year. This month was a great reading month for me. My son went to cam for a week,so I got a few book’s finished in that time.Hope I can read this many in August, I’m going back to college in September for the first time in 6 years 🙂

295691571.Zenith By Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings, Book Review Here

2.Welcome to Camp Nightmare by R.L. Stine
Listened to this on audio book with my son. The story is pretty great. It’s a typical scary camp story. I remember I owned this one as a kid, but couldn’t remember how it ended. Of course, there’s a insane twist ending. I just love these books. I gave this 3.5 stars.

3.Goosebumps: Haunted Mask II:  by R.L. Stine
This was one of my favorite goosebumps growing up. Listened to this on audio book with Noah too. Also gave this a 3.5 Stars.

4.The Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste, Book Review Here

5.November Rain by Shannon A. Thompson, Book Review Here

6.November Snow by Shannon A. Thompson
First of all a huge thanks to the author for providing me with the copy of the book. November Snow takes off from where the first part – November Rain – has ended. T he second book has a lot more action, twists and turns making it an amazing finale. My heart broke in the end but I loved every minute of this book. I warn you, you will need an abundance of tissues at your disposal. I strongly recommend this book to anyone. I gave this 5 Stars.

7.A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin, Full Review Here

8.Shiver By Maggie Steifvater
So as a big fan of Stiefvater’s ‘Raven Cycle’ series, I was really expecting to love this book,I liked it, but it wasn’t amazing. I am just so torn on rating this book. Maggie Steifvater’s writing is so vivid and poetic. It’s why I love her writing style.I really liked the werewolf concept in this book. Werewolves are no supernatural creatures with inhuman strength; they are simply normal wolves. Similar to a sort of illness that comes with the lowering of temperatures and being unable to remember your human life. I also have to mention the romance. It was a little too insta-love for me. I gave this a 3.5 Stars.

9.The Uninvited by Cat Winters

Haunting, beautiful.. I could go on;-) This was my first Cat Winters book but it wont be my last. While the romance is a major factor in the story, it also touches on the more serious aspects of the time. The racism, the hatred, the narrow-mindedness, the deaths and the rise of jazz. I absolutely loved this book. Major plot twist, I thought I had guessed at it but I was only partly right and the rest of it blew me away.

10.The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls by Claire Legrand
The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls is Claire Legrand’s debut novel. I LOVED IT! Ohmygod! so much creepy, I love it! All you Coraline fans out there, I found the next level. And has a protagonist with OCD and anxiety who manages to use her OCD as a tool to help fight evil compulsion spells. The art in this book., its beautiful. All the little designs, the bugs on the pages the illustrations fit the story perfectly.

11. Horimiya Vol 4 by HERO
This couple is killing me with cuteness overdose!!My heart is totally melting, Izumi is really sweet. It’s getting better and better. Hori dad is hilarious, this manga makes me smile and giggle the whole way through I just love it so much. Hurry up and release volume 5 already 🙂

June Wrap Up

darkfever1.Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning ,Full Review here

2.The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
DNF 2.5 Stars
I am giving up around the halfway point,it just didn’t catch my attention enough to continue. Being a huge fan of Morgan Matson, I was really looking forward to this book. However, this book fell flat for me compared to Matson’s other novels. I was really disappointed that I didn’t like it. I did not like Andie, I didn’t like her personality and I couldn’t relate to her. She can get any guy she wants, is unrealistic, then she breaks up with them 3 weeks later before it becomes to serious. Andie comes off as in-mature and spoiled. What I did like :Strong female friendships! The dog’s were a nice touch, actually the character I cared most about was Bertie.

3.BloodFever by Karen Marie Moning

This is the second book in the Fever series.

4.Horimiya Vol 3 by HERO

If you guys ever want to read an extremely sweet and adorable romance manga, look up “Horimiya”
My absolute favorite thing about Horimiya is just how natural the relationship between Miyamura and Hori is. they’re a couple who acts exactly like one and they don’t have the typical (and sometimes annoying) problems/tropes. I have never really seen a relationship portrayed so well like that and it’s so nice. Their relationship is just so oddly cute but urhghhh the little gestures they do makes me so so happy. The manga doesn’t just focus on Hori and Miyamura alone, but their relationship with friends and family as well which in my opinion is perfect. The characters are well built and so real!! You can relate to them all in multiple occasions. Now we wait for volume 4 which isn’t out till July 😦

5.Outcast Vol 1 By Robert Kirkman

Kyle Barnes has a very dark history. Blamed for beating his wife and kid, Kyle more or less avoids the rest of the world. This first volume was a good introduction, but it left a lot of questions to be answered .Kyle is very intriguing and I can’t wait to see more of his backstory. I loved the story line, it was really interesting and it really leaves you wanting more .I think this is just brilliant and I have a feeling it will be incredible!

6.Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan- Full Review here

7.The Young Elites, Marie Lu- Full Review here

8.The Girl on the Train

I’ve been waiting to pick up this book for a long time, while at the cinema to see Me Before You, they played the movie trailer for The Girl on the Train and the next day I started reading. The Girl on the Train is an incredibly addictive thriller, urging you on throughout the book, to just read ‘one more page’.I also loved the fact that this was told in multiple POVs, especially when all the characters, at some point, were incredibly unlikeable – which I think was a big part of the whole story. I was wrong about the twist, so that made the ending interesting. The story is so psychologically twisted and so brilliant, Im glad I read it before seeing the movie.

The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace

I bought a copy on my kindle and absolutely LOVED it. I can’t wait to get a physical copy. I was so hooked I finished the whole thing in one sitting. Amanda’s words are powerful and raw,She wrote such beautiful book of poetry. Brought tears to my eyes more than once. I highly recommend! She also has a Tumblr : http://ladybookmad.tumblr.com/

The Rose & the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh

This was a majestic, beautiful, heart-wrenching, INCREDIBLE ending to a series I will forever cherish in my heart. I was so not mentally prepared for that to be the end of the series. I loved both books so much, so I guess I’m happy that there were only two so that I don’t have to stay up all night wondering what’s to happen next. I love Renee Ahdieh’s words so much, her imagery and be forever immersed in the beautiful depth and passion. Renèe Ahdieh has an amazing writing style creating a diverse world of engaging culture. I adored this series so very much. I highly recommend this book!

Paper Princess by Erin Watt

I have no idea when was the last time a book got me so addicted to it. I had lost all sense of time Erin Watt, the pseudonym of two authors, Elle Kennedy & Jen Frederick. This book is marketed as Ya but it has a lot of mature themes and I would say its more NA. Ella Harper- She is the absolute BOMB. Like y’all know how much I love my feisty heroines. Her voice was realistic and had an actual personality. This was such a fun fast read, and it ended on a major cliffhanger!! Broken Prince can’t come any sooner.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

I LOVED this so much !! AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF BIG SHINY STARS!!! Thank you, Sarah J. Maas. Thank you for giving us Rhys. I LOVE him!! Full review to come soon.
