I received an advance copy of this book from Edelwiess in exchange for an honest review.
This was one of my most anticipated romance books of the year and I am SO happy to report that I loved it just as much as I was hoping I would.
This is the story of Chloe Brown, a thirty-one-year-old that when faced with a near-death experience, when she is almost hit by a car. She returns home and decided she needs to start living,so naturally she makes a list of all the things she believes she should be experiencing.First thing, she moves out on her own into an apartment complex. This isn’t a story where the girl suddenly gets better because she wants to live a great life, Chloe struggles and we get to read about her flareups. How her illness impacts her life, but it does not define her,she is so much more than that. She is sassy, brave, beautiful, vulnerable and funny. I would love to be her friend, I loved her so much!
Once she moves out she meets superintendent Redford, he is tall, tattooed and way to attractive for Chloe’s liking. They do not get along very well, he believes her to be a spoiled rich girl and she finds him annoyingly friendly.
Chloe Brown: witty, sophisticated, who has great taste when it comes to buttoned cardigans and colorful vintage dresses, she suffers from fibromyalgia, she works from home as a graphic designer making websites
Redford : He is a tall ,tattooed, artist, who is currently working as a superintendent, he is incredibly charming, while also being straight forward with his thoughts.
‘She seemed fine, but then, she seemed fine all the time…and yet she was in pain all the time too. When it came to looking after Chloe, that pretty face of hers couldn’t be trusted.”
These two together were unbelievably cute. I really appreciated how Chloe and Redford communicating, sharing and learning about each other. Redford is such a caring man,he wants to help Chloe,it does not come off as him being overly attentive, but just really sweet. Also just a quick note there is a cat in this book, which honestly gives it all the more love from me.Honestly Talia Hibbert is becoming one of my favorite romance writers and I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future, so look out for those.
Overall this was a really cute romance with a lot of good representation. I honestly cannot for the next book, its going to be about Dani, one of Chloe’s sisters.
