The battle for the Crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail?

With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is strongerthan ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out.And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent.

In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the crown: each other.

I’m disappointed to say that I had such high expectations for this series and it turned out to be just okay. I really struggled to get into the story, yes this book had a lot more action scenes then book one. If you loved the first book than I’m sure you will really enjoy this one as well, I just don’t think this series is for me, and now it has been extended to four books. These book’s have a mixture of everything I love, dark, edgy powerful queens, but something just isn’t clicking.

I found a lot of the scenes were rushed and some plot points I didn’t understand, I felt they were unnecessary to the story. The pacing is really slow, and I don’t really connect with any of the characters. There are a lot of character arcs in these book’s. There’s the three queens, there suitors ,friends and family. Arsinoe is still my favorite but Katharine is making an incredibly close second. She has changed SO MUCH and I really enjoyed seeing the dark side to her.The romances I’m not invested in any of them, Joseph is a terrible person!

These books are enjoyable, and I plan on sticking with this series to see how it will end for the queens.
