Stranger Things Review*Spoilers*

The Netflix original series Stranger Things debuted on July 15th.The Duffer Brothers did something familiar yet unique. Loved all the the 80’s references, I am OBSESSED!

Stranger Things is what American Horror Story wishes it was. The soundtrack in this show is nothing short of stunning. I loved Stranger Things from start to finish and was in absolute awe throughout the whole time. I love this type of sci-fi horror,It’s not cheesy or too gory. It’s suspenseful and clever. The aesthetic for this show is killing me! It’s so good! This show is like the Goonies, The X-files, and Supernatural mashed into one weird and wonderful show. ***Heads up- lots of flashing lights ***

Plot:The story of Stranger Things set in 1983 Hawkins, Indiana. When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back. One thing I cannot praise enough are the child actors in this show. I really love how smart and practical the kids are. There adorable dorks and I love them. I also love how they let the kids be kids. There friendship is so pure.

Mike is so devoted to his friends. he is based in kindness and integrity and is just a force of pure goodness .Dustin is such a cupcake!! He loves his friends and he’s the glue that holds everyone together. He keeps mentioning the hobbit and lord of the rings, man I love this kid.Lucas is protective and really smart. He learns to accept Eleven and even apologizes to her.Eleven is a precious gift and needs to be protected.

Jonathan is the Purest character hes such a sweetheart he loves his mom and sacrifices his safety to help his family. Nancy is badass, she went to the upside down and escaped and her first thought in the morning was to go back and kill the monster. She is kind and tries to do the right thing. Steve was a typical popular guy in the beginning but his character grew, he felt bad for the way things went down with Nancy and came back to apologize.

The love triangle between Jonathan, Steve, and Nancy is so!!! well!!! executed!!! Jonathan and Steve don’t fight over Nancy like she’s a prize. It’s just so good. I apparently have an OT3? Like, this has literally never happened to me before, I’m usually a very monogamous shipper.

Eight episodes was both the perfect amount of Stranger Things to tell the story and not nearly enough to satisfy my greed for more of this glorious thing. I already feel the need to watch it again. Can’t wait for season 2!!!
